of the National Assocation of Free Will Baptists

The Media Commission of the National Association of Free Will Baptists is pleased to unveil its new logo, the winner of a design contest sponsored by the commission in September. Marc Neppl, a 2007 graduate of Gateway Christian College, submitted the winning entry. Marc and his wife Casie are associate home missionaries at CrossPointe Free Will Baptist church in Suffolk, Virginia. Entries included14 designs from 6 participants and were judged anonymously by a panel of professionals. Contest judges included Media Commission members, the design department at Randall House, Eric Thomsen, editor of ONE, and Sarah Fletcher, editor/designer of WNAC’s Together With God magazine. Judges were impressed with the quality of all entries, and the winning entry was specifically commended for its simplicity and clean, contemporary feel.
The Media Commission will feature this new logo on a redesigned website located at fwbmedia.com. The site will play a large role in refocusing the commission’s emphasis to new forms of media, especially those related to the Internet. The commission plans to develop its website into a clearinghouse of information about new technologies, resources, and vendors. Using this interactive site, churches can recommend and review local, regional, and national sources for web and print design, sound and projection systems, and worship resources. Instead of trying to provide services directly to churches, the Media Commission hopes to help churches, denominational agencies, vendors, and individuals network information and pool the expertise of their own members for the best and most efficient use of ministry dollars.
A survey of over 200 Free Will Baptists launched at the 2008 National Convention is also providing commission members with insights into the media needs and current technologies used by our churches. The results of this survey are also located on the commission’s website. For more information or to provide feedback to the Media Commission, please email info@fwbmedia.com.
