How Many Watched the National Online?
According to statistics provided by our hosting company, more than 2,500 viewers from more than 20 countries and 45 states tuned in to watch services of the National Association of Free Will Baptists meeting in Charlotte, NC, July 17-20, 2011. In addition to the anonymous data provided by the web host, viewers commented via email, text message, web posts, Twitter tweets, and Facebook messages. The response was overwhelmingly positive.
One of the most common requests was that we provide video of the services on demand and that we broadcast NYC events, especially the Wednesday night awards ceremony. The Media Commission will continue to work with the Executive Office and Randall House to expand the access and availability of online video feeds of the convention.
Keith, I received an email from Martha Everson (granmar40@hotmail.com). They had intended to send it to the media commission. Here it is:
“Thank you and the rest of the Media Commission for
streaming our National Convention’s worship services.
I enjoyed them last year and again this year. I wish
I had the words to adequately thank your committee
for making this possible.
My late husband – O. B. Everson – and I along with our
children started attending our National Convention in
the early 1950′s and continued until the 1990′s. (My
father – Beauchamp Houston – began attending the
convention in the late 1930′s at Bryan, Texas.) Our
four children were there when the Youth Activities were
transferred from the WAC to the CTS Department. So
it is such a treat and a special blessing to me to be
able to participate in the worship services now that I
am not physically able to attend these special annual
activites. Thank you so much.
Yours in Him,
martha everson “
